Maddie Chatting

Maddie has been chatting a lot lately. She really likes to talk to the bumble toy on her car seat while I am chauffeuring her around. Here is a video I took yesterday of her talking to Jake and I. I had to sneak the camera in order to catch her so please excuse the shot of our couch in the beginning.

Happy 3rd Month Birthday, Maddie!

Today little Maddie turned 3 months! Time sure flies when you are having fun. She is a smiley, happy baby but I do have to say we have been having some bottle-feeding issues. We are working on it, but someone just always wants to be fed by mommy! She is also obsessed with her hands. She holds them and tries to shove fingers, fists or both hands in her mouth. She may or may not be beginning to teethe. Daddy is gone this week to Northern California for business so Nonni came down to stay with us; so let the dress up time begin! Playtime with Maddie

Now that Maddie is awake a lot of the day - she has been taking 30 - 45 minute naps with maybe a 1.5 - 2 hour nap every once in a while - I try to find different ways to play with her to keep her entertained. It's hard to figure out where to put her, how to stimulate her, etc. Here are some of the things we do during playtime...

The Past Few Weeks

Maddie is becoming a happier little baby by the day. She is so fun to play with now and she loves checking everything out. We have a little Curious George on our hands. She is sleeping longer at night. We have gotten a couple 7 and 8 hour nights. (Of course I go upstairs to make sure she is still breathing because I can't believe she is sleeping that long :)) During this month, Nonni came down to visit us, Maddie made her first trip to the races, Auntie Katie came for a visit and Mads went on her first Duffy ride! She loved the fresh air of the Duffy ride.

Maddie's 2nd month

Here is a look back at Maddie's 2nd month, June 22 - July 22. She became much more aware this month and finally smiled! I can't tell you how awesome it is to get a smile. For the first month, it felt as if all I was getting was cranky and sleepy face. She also started staying awake much longer for playtime! Her nights started to get better, she started to sleep 10:00 - 4:00am. 6 hours?! I'll take it! Here are the many faces of our little munchkin.
